The majority of those individuals who come to Sweden and begging on the streets is people who are already marginalized by society, whether they stayed in their home country, ended up in another European country, or made it here to Sweden. A large percentage are Roma from Romania and is one of society's most discriminated and marginalized groups, individuals who are not even in their own country have basic civil rights. For them, begging a desperate attempt to provide for themselves and the families who are often left in the home and are living far below the poverty line. Often leaves one child and the family left the home.
